Canisius vs Hobart lacrosse

It was summer-like weather on March 20th and Canisius was taking on nationally ranked Hobart in lacrosse. The Golden Griffins kept the score close until the 4th quarter when Hobart ran away with it. It was a perfect night for watching a game and I went without my coat. Here's some pictures I took at the game...

 

 

 

St. Patty's Day Parade

With temperatures more fitting for a Memorial Day parade, tens of thousands packed Delaware Avenue to watch the annual St. Patty's Day Parade. The temperature was 75 degrees at the start of the parade with the sun peaking out out the slight overcast skies. It was a festive day with the crowd and the partying going on more of the attraction than the parade itself.

Indoor lacrosse All-Star game

The National Lacrosse League staged it's annual All-Star game in Buffalo on February 25th. The East roared to a 9-2 lead only to have the West chip away at the score. The game was tied 15-15 after 3 quarters, but then the East had a hard time scoring and the West won 20-18. Bandits all-time great John Tavares had two goals as he was the East's captian. In all, it was a pretty entertaining game. Here are some pics I took at the game...

 

Niagara vs Canisius hockey

Since Niagara University joined the same college conference that Canisius is in, the two have played back-to-back games each season. Last year, the two teams split and Canisius beat the Purple Eagles in the playoffs.

On Valentine's Day this year, Niagara visited Canisius at Buffalo State (where the Golden Griffins play their hockey) and Niagara won 4-1. Here's some pics I took of the game...

Ron Paul visits Buffalo

Last summer, in the early part of Ron Paul's campaign for the Republican nomination for President, he came to East Aurora, just south of Buffalo, to have a rally. I took off early from work to go see Mr. Paul. He gave a great speech and has a lot of supporters across the country.

 

Squirrels

In the summer, the squirrels take over my yard. From digging holes in my garden (and taking flowers with the big dig) to scampering across the fence. The pics below I took a few years ago and this squirrel was pretty brave.
