Gateway Harbor & Erie Canal - North Tonawanda

There is a nice park on the Erie Canal in North Tonawanda that is a great place for pictures, concerts and picnics. With the boats that dock along the side of the canal, the park is very scenic.

UB Spring Practice

Braved winds over 45 mph and temps in the mid 30s to see the UB Bulls hold their "spring" football practice. It was more like late November weather than late April weather, but it got the players used to playing in the cold, which will be the norm this fall. Here's some pictures I took at the practice...

Sothern Ontario waterfalls

I went over the bridge to Canada, using my Enhanced NYS license for the first time so I could take some pictures of waterfalls in Southern Ontario. I started with the largest falls, Niagara Falls and then traveled to St. Catharines and Hamilton to get some smaller waterfalls.

Here's a collection of waterfalls north of the border...

Syracuse lacrosse

Went to the Syracuse-John Hopkins game on Saturday. Hopkins is a powerhouse every year and usually is in the Final Four. This year, both Hopkins and Syracuse were off to good starts. The 'Cuse scored 6 straight after falling behind 1-0, and cruised to a 13-8 win.

I took some pics at the game and am sharing them here...

Canisius beats Bentley, advances in playoffs

Went to the Canisius vs Bentley (from Massachusetts) Saturday night. Canisius had beaten them 4-0 the night before, so Bentley had to win this game to stay alive. The Griffins scored two goals in the second, and held on to win 2-1 to advance. Here's the article about the game along with some pics I took.

Bentley had the coolest uniforms I ever saw. They were all black and the logo, a B, was designed so that it was barely noticeable. I think the Sabres should have something similar for their third uniforms.

Winter scenes in Amherst

Ten fresh inches of snow hung on the trees and the brilliant sunshine made the winter scenes even more striking. Here's some pictures I took from the Amherst Bike Path, Westwood and Audubon Country Clubs along with other snow scenes...
