High School football in WNY

The football season opened on Labor Day weekend in WNY and there were plenty of games for fans to choose from. I went to the St. Joe's vs Aquinas game in Kenmore, N.Y. It featured Chad Kelly, the nephew of the famed Buffalo Bill star quarterback Jim Kelly against Aquinas's Jarron Jones, who will be going to Notre Dame. Aquinas ripped St. Joe's 40-20. Also saw some of the Orchard Park at Ken West game, which O.P. won.

Chad Kelly runs away from mammoth Jarron Jones during first half action.

Overflow crowd braves 90 degree temps to see big showdown.

Aquinas running back Billy Lombardi takes off against St. Joe's.

Billy Lombardi ran for 224 yards against St. Joe's.

Kenmore West's quarterback delivers a pass.

Orchard Park's running back gets some daylight.
