California sunset

Back in 1979, I went to California on my honeymoon. While driving from LA to San Fran during the evening along U.S. Route 1, I got to take some sunset pictures of the Pacific coast. These are old pictures that I took with my non-digital Minota camera and later scanned into a JPG file that I loaded on Photobucket.

Kaaterskill Falls in the Catskills

Just a couple hours out of WNY are the Catskill Mountains. This is a summer resort area for not only campers, but for fishermen and high class motels in the mountain areas. Kaaterskill Falls are on the eastern side of the Catskills, but are worth the trip. This is a two-tiered water falls that is a magnet for photo buffs.

Presque Isle State Park

Presque Isle State Park is located just outside of Erie, PA. It is a beautiful park that has beaches on Lake Erie and wooded areas. Just two hours to the west of Buffalo, it offers a lot for WNY'ers who want to find some sandy beaches akin to that on the Atlantic Ocean resorts like Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Great Baehre Swamp

Located outside of Williamsville, NY, off Hopkins Road, is the Great Baehre Swamp. Officially cal.led the Margaret Louise Park, it is situated in a small swamplands area and has a lengthy board walk that allows hikers to take in the beauty of nature and animal life.
